KBS..

Today, I'm off to KBS where I will go to Kampung Suak Padi which is perkampungan orang asli that still, located in Perak. We are going to stay about three days and two nights and I don't know what will happen but just after the program, I will post a thread about my experience. Sure, I will take photos. Wish me safe journey, that's all.. Simple, is it??

1st entry for this Ramadhan~

I only have time during Saturday for updating my blog. The third week, I only have one word to say, BUSY. Right now, I'm doing my lab report which we have to send the full report with 20 pages minimum (WTH) this Monday and still, my partners lab and me, still have no idea what we want to do. We did meet for two times but still, can't figure out what is this experiment about (Fluid Mechanics experiment). It gonna be tough for me. But, I'm trying to do the calculation first and after that, I will give it to my friends and hope they approved it. Btw, we are 6 persons in a group and I have two foreigner in my group and guess what? I have to speak English all the time which it turned out to be awkward for me and what make it bad, they also the same members for MEB (Material and Energy Balance). Hope I can improve my English with having foreigners in my lab team.

Back to the title of the entry, this is my first entry for Ramadhan and it's my very first to fasting in Peninsular Malaysia and felt how my friends feel when their family already berbuka but still, we in Peninsular Malaysia have to wait for another one hour. But I'm okay with it since I am so busy with my tutorial, lab etc. I didn't care because I finish my study when it's already the time for us to berbuka. First day experience, I am HOMESICK. This is because I keep remember my family in Tawau when the berbuka, the atmosphere and foods, lebih meriah and best. It was already 7pm and I wish my family to called and ask me how was my first day fasting in Peninsular Malaysia. So childish~ Whatever, but still I want them to call me. So, I took decision to give a call and they really forgot me. But after talk with my beloved mom, I really miss her so much. But, the day afterward, I am OKAY.

But, the problem with UTP is they don't have bazaar here. I don't know but it must be has something to do with the agreement. Maybe they don't allowed to open bazaar here because when they open bazaar here, people won't buy at the cafe. But the problem is we are boring with all the foods that serving here. It's all the same since my first day I am here. But, they do have bazaar outside the UTP but I don't know where because only students with transport can go to bazaar easily. Usually, I just told my friends to buy anything for me, as long as the food is delicious. Seem like I MUST have a transport (motorbike) for me so that I can use it when I want to buy food and also, to go to the class because our class, it's far far away.

Oklah, thats' all. Actually I have a lot to share but lab report just spoil my mood..

MAKNA, KBS and KBP

I'm going to explain one by one what it is all about. I mean the title. Actually, the second week I am here, I am thinking of what kind of event or club I want to join for this semester because before this, I mean in semester 1, I did only join two activity, Jelajah UTP and AngPau Hunt. However, it's only small thing and I didn't get any certificate but only experience. But, I really enjoy that especially the hunt during the last semester. So, I'm thinking back that I should join any event or activity because I promise to myself that I will join at least two events or activities for the second semester because I don't to be a student that only focused to my study but I left my social activity behind.

The first one is MAKNA (Majlis Kanser Nasional. So, from the meaning, you guys sure can predict what we are doing. We are help to raise funds for this, MAKNA for providing with food, clothes and many more. A meaning to Life, it's what is MAKNA about. But, still I am just a member and I wish, but I will make it come true that someday I will be one of the committee. I really want to help organize the event like MAKNA introduction week. Just today, I join two events which is hold by MAKNA UTP ; charity run and hospital visiting. I will tell you later about this events because I want to upload photos too.

The next one is KBS (Khidmat Bakti Siswa) which is under responsible of RD (Ramadhan Discovey). At first, I have to attend the interview and I went to the interview with my friend, Syafiq. The interview's questions are quite hard but I just said what I think. Because they don't give us time to think or in the other word, spontaneous. They said the result will tell later tomorrow (today) and I got a message from them which tell me that I got sort listed for being facilitator during the KBS. Unfortunately, my friends Syafiq didn't make it. I really hope that both of us will pass the interview but seem like it's only me who pass the interview. Let me tell you what is KBS program about. It's like program anak angkat that will be take place at perkampungan orang asli. I don't know what will we do but there will be taaruf but I don't know when. I felt excited because it has been my dream to join a program like this one.

The last one is KBP (Kelab Bimbingan Peperiksaan). I'm doing this because I really want to teach. This time, I choose to teach SPM students for Chemistry but I think I also can teach other subjects like mathematics and additional mathematics. I don't know when we will start to teach but we just wait for the committee to inform us.

So, that's all what is that about and as you can see, the similarity of MAKNA, KBS and KBP is

It's so suddenly why I want to be a volunteer....

11.23am, UTP's IRC, 3rd floor..

I am currently write my blog here in UTP's IRC at the third floor. I decided to go the library because I need to be serious about my study. I should be more study, less game and movie. Today is the second week but still, monday we don't have class but supposedly we have class in 9am (Engineering Graphics) but still, the lecturer still in holiday. WTH. Plus, we also have lab on monday but lab only will be start in 3rd week or 4th week, it is based on our group. Bha, have to continue my study and I will update more. You know what? I have one thing in my mind, I want the mid-term holiday. I can't wait for it..

UTP (part 5)

Another update and it's the sixth day for the first week in UTP for someone, who is already in FIRST year SECOND semester. I'm gonna tell about my lecture class. First of all, ISLAMIC STUDIES. Wow, this subject is cool but i maybe have problem but still, working hard on it. What I don't like is just after the class, we have to go in front of class to give our own opinion about the topic that we learn. And I am a bit moody everytime just after the class because we need to give our opinion, in ENGLISH and IN FRONT OF 100++ students and that's not totally me. I don't know but I think I need to give my opinion because I'm afraid if it will give us more marks for this subject. So, what is the initiative that I take? I try to find any article that discuss anything about the Islamic Studies and I have to familiarize myself with that kind of language. Actually, it's been a problem for me because this is my very FIRST that I have to learn in English. But, every semester has its own challenge. Last semester, Ochem in English but Russian accent. This semester, Islamic Studies in English but taught by foreigner who is originally from US. He talk so fast and I don't understand every single thing that he said but still, I'm improving myself.

I'm home but UTP (part 4)

I should update it last night but I don't have time because seem like, Tuesday will be the busiest week for me. We have both lecturers and tutorial. Never mind, I should focus on something that is important such like my first class. Yesterday, we have our first class (8am-9am) called, Structured Programming and Database Systems. Ya, it's something that I'm pretty sure that Ronald (a friend who is in UMS doing Software Engineering) will love this subject to me. The first impression, WTH with all the codes like COUT, CIN,etc.. I am a bit blurred because I really don't know stuff like this but I can take this as a challenge. Not only that, I think I have to familiar myself with C++ stuff. Allah, help me to do better in this subjects.

Then, supposedly we should have class after this, Engineering Graphics (9am-10am) but we are told that the first class will be only hold in August 11, 2010. Still two weeks to go.

The next class is Material and Energy Balance(10am-11am). It's one hour lecturer but we will be divided by two groups which Rafiq, Madi, Azie and I in group number two. So, our lecturer should start at (11am-12pm), but since it was the first day we only have to attend for the first class. But, after that we have to split again according to our group. We (group 2) will have early morning class (8am-9am) on Wednesday and group number 1 also will have class at the same time (so it's fair) but on Friday, the class is for both groups.

At 12pm-1pm, we will have Islamic Studies and I am a bit worried about this subject because the lecturer that teach us that subject is from US and he talked so fast and I don't understand every single thing that he said. Seem like this will be a big problem to me. Then, he asked us about our opinion and all of the students have to give their own opinion included me. But, it's me, Rosly. I am too shy to speak in front of people but I still have to say my own opinion and I think all of the students that still didn't say anything will be asked to do the same at tomorrow class. But, this time I think I am ready for it. Just say it.

Just after the class, we also will have a tutorial between 1pm-2pm/2pm-3pm. We will have two slots but only have to choose one. But since we will only have tutor in second week, we are free. But, next week (OMG).. So, we are waiting for the next class, Chemical Engineer Fluid Mechanics. Supposedly, from the timetable that we see we will have class at 4pm-5pm. But when I checked it back, actually we have two slots which we will be divided in groups and only have to attend only one. The lecturer class should be at 3pm-5pm, so we should attend the class at 3pm not 4pm but it's already too late. So, my friends and I missed the first class of fluid mechanics. Haha, I don't believe that this is happen but it's okay because we will have the class tomorrow.

So, I think that's all what I want to tell about yesterday..
